Advanced Dental Technology Grand Prairie
Changing Lives with Innovative Solutions
As a trustworthy and talented dentist in Grand Prairie, Dr. Vo recognizes the importance of providing patients with the best in dental technology. Although many traditional methods are still in use by dentists throughout the area, we offer updated techniques and technologies that reduce recovery times, deliver accurate results, and ensure optimal comfort.
Rayscan CBCT Scanner
Using Rayscan imaging software, our CBCT scanner delivers accurate, three-dimensional scans to assist in more extensive dental treatment planning. When a more detailed look at your head and face is required, this technological device forms a 3D model to make it easier for Dr. Vo and our team to analyze the images and better prepare how we plan to approach necessary care.
Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera is designed to not only identify the smallest areas of decay for early detection but also educate patients about their oral health. Using real-time imaging that is produced by a handheld, camera-tipped device that scans your teeth and gums, Dr. Vo can discuss the current state of your smile as well as proposed treatment options while you look at a nearby screen.
Digital X-Rays

Two-dimensional imaging has transitioned from lengthy photos that require adequate darkroom development to faster, safer, and clearer scans that require only seconds. Using digital X-rays, we can view the entirety of your mouth above and below the gumline to develop a more comprehensive understanding of your oral anatomy. These images assist in creating a baseline for your smile and any changes that might occur over time.
iTero Digital Impression System

Custom restorations need to fit comfortably and correctly. To accomplish this, accurate digital impressions must first be taken. The cold, foul-tasting dental putty used for this is messy and causes many patients to gag. However, our iTero digital impression system now makes the process less stressful and more relaxing for patients. Using a similar device as an intraoral camera, Dr. Vo can scan your teeth and bite to create a 3D model that will be used by lab technicians to craft an artificial tooth or set of teeth.
Soft Tissue Laser

When it’s time to reduce inflammation and gum pocket formations associated with gum disease, Dr. Vo and our team at Radiant Smiles can use our CO2 soft tissue laser. Equipped with a concentrated beam of light that produces no heat, vibration, or noise, it can target areas of bacteria, effectively eliminating them to encourage reattachment and better oral health over time. The best part is the laser causes no additional bleeding or swelling but instead cauterizes and sterilizes when in use.
Nitrous Oxide Dental Sedation

Nerves and years of unresolved fear can keep many patients from visiting the dentist’s office. If this sounds all too familiar, you might have decided that taking the “wait and see” approach is the best thing to do, even if you’re dealing with an excruciating toothache. Fortunately, there is another option: nitrous oxide. This mild form of sedation dentistry can alleviate anxiety, stress, and worry, allowing you to relax comfortably in the treatment chair while we provide the dental care that you need.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Nitrous Oxide?
Nitrous oxide is often helpful for patients who:
- Struggle with mild to moderate dental anxiety
- Have a sensitive gag reflex
- Experience head/neck/jaw pain in the treatment chair
- Have a fear of needles
- Need extensive dental care, like several tooth extractions
If one or more of the above apply to you, then don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with us so we can determine if you’re a good candidate!
How Does Nitrous Oxide Work?
Mild in its delivery, nitrous oxide can easily take the edge off if you struggle to sit still or remain at ease in the dentist’s chair. The first step is helping you settle comfortably into the treatment chair. Then, we will place a small nasal mask over your nose and instruct you to inhale. In minutes, you’ll no longer feel any anxiety about your dental visit. Instead, you’ll feel calm, relaxed, and completely at ease.
Throughout your visit, we will check in with you to make sure you’re comfortable. If you doze off, then we will either gently wake you or allow you to rest while we provide the preventive, cosmetic, or emergency dentistry that you need.
Aftercare for Nitrous Oxide
One of the many benefits of choosing dental nitrous oxide in Grand Prairie is that you won’t have to deal with lingering grogginess or drowsiness. Once we remove the mask, you will start to notice the effects dissipate. When they are completely gone, we will answer any questions you have and provide you with any aftercare instructions related to the treatment you received, like rinsing your mouth periodically with warm saltwater and sticking to soft foods for the next 24 hours. Then, you’ll be free to resume your usual routine!
iTero Cavity Detection System

Cavities are among the most common oral health problems for individuals of all ages throughout the world. However, catching them early on is one of the most effective ways to minimize the need for restorative and emergency care. Fortunately, with our iTero cavity detection system, we can stop the spread of decay at its earliest stages so that your teeth remain healthy and better protected now and in the future.
